The parliamentary fact-finding mission

With the agreement of the President of the National Assembly, Claude Bartolone, and on proposal of Jean-Louis Borloo, President of the UDI group, a parliamentary fact-finding mission to support the French application to 2025 World Expo was decided by the Conference of Presidents on October 8th, 2013, and confirmed on January 7th, 2014.

This mission, of which the constituent meeting took place on January 22nd, 2014, is composed by 30 members. It is presided over by Jean-Christophe FROMANTIN and reported by Bruno LE ROUX, President of the socialist group at the National Assembly.

According to the National Assembly press release, this event "will be an opportunity for France to find a place within the globalization thanks to an increased influence on a world scale. Besides, this project will leverage future understructures and especially the ones relative to the Grand Paris. Nevertheless the whole territory will be a party to this application in order to give a new boost to the economic tissue of local authorities and regions. Many events will take place in different French metropolis. The thought must have an iterative nature particularly thanks to information technology. It will widely put emphasis on innovations."

"The mission will take an inventory of assets and progresses to make regarding the expo organization in order to implement a guide for good practices."
